JACK MILBURN'S MISHAP

In the game, against Barnsley, at Oakwell on Saturday, Jack Milburn Leeds United's right full back, who is in the Army, went off before the interval with a leg injury. He was taken to the Barnsley Beckett Hospital, where it was found that his left fibula was broken. It was a benefit match for the widow of George Bullock, of the Fleet Air Arm, the brilliant Barnsley outside right, killed in a road crash. The result was a draw 1-1, the lead Barnsley took in five minutes through Smith being offset in the 30th minute when Harper, in passing back to Binns, who had come well out, lifted the ball well over the Barnsley goalkeeper's head into his own goal.
